Course Title:Manual Handling Training
Duration & Mode of Delivery:Two (2) hours of face-to-face training.
Delivery locationOn-Site Training.
Minimum Age Requirement: 14 Years.

Course Content

AHST’s Manual Handling Training is facilitated by an expert physiotherapist. This training covers:

  • Manual handling risk factors
  • Detailed anatomy of lumbar spine, shoulder and knee
  • Manual handling risk control
  • Core movement principles including semi-squat, weight-shift, lunge
  • Workplace specific techniques including slide sheet use, in bed mobility & use of hoists
  • Working above shoulder height options, getting a client out of bed and sit to stand transfers
  • The training can be tailored to your individual practice requirements

Student Support Requirements

If you have any learning requirements involving language, literacy and numeracy, or any special physical requirements early contact should be made to ascertain the most appropriate avenue of assistance, so competency can be achieved. You will be responsible for any costs associated with external student support.
